hello

Anyone got any clue why I can't log on to a website at home, keep getting a page cannot be displayed , but when I try it out at work it's fine?

It's a website I have been visiting for years with no problems. I thought it was down until I tried it today at work.

wattupwidat?

all perfectly innocent, I wouldn't be trying it at work otherwise!

I haven't changed a thing on my home comp (not to my knowledge anyway)

I had that problem once. Clearing the history, cookies etc solved it. Don't know why but it worked.

Untick the 'Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages' (Tools...Internet Options....advanced) as it will probably give you more info as to why it can't display the page at home.

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\hosts from memory. A file which overrides domain name lookup.

/etc/hosts on every other OS

If the website is listed in the hosts file in work, that'd be why it doens't route at home, or if its in his hosts file at home incorrectly, that could also be why.

Normally, you never need to use the hosts file.

Can be several reasons and more info is really needed.

It could be your iSP's cache or your local cache try clicking on the reload button several times really quickly see if that clears it.

Need to know things like is it BB or dial-up

what ISP

what site etc etc etc.
