Something very addictive about cola cubes. I always wanted them, and always wanted more, but they were never that satisfying. Still, them and then some roast beef monster munch and a couple of cans of coke make for an excellent snack whatever the time of day.

is that a spanish thing

No, they'd put olive oil and tomato on it, far too healthy for me.

This was just after the war so it probably wasn't butter, more like lard or axle grease but it was good enough to me on my two mile walk to school alone at age 5 in the East End of London - you young people today, don't know you're born...........

And relax.....

Waggon Wheel on the way home to do my home work. Not.

3d Sherbet, or a couple of flying saucers. Then a rocket or a 99.
Get a pack or two of American Civil War bubble-gum, with the cards and Confederate money, or maybe some Beatles ones with the 'signed' black and white photos, and The Beano or Dandy (sometimes with free balsa-wood glider, or paper 'clapper' thing).

Later on, it was Players No.6, and pop round some friend's places to listen to Cream, Rolling Stones, Grease Band or whatever.
