Oldham's future is in doubt
Oldham chairman Chris Moore will meet with a Norwegian consortium on Thursday to discuss the sale of the cash-strapped club.
Moore, who recently stopped bankrolling the Second Division club's £50,000-a-week losses, has already held preliminary talks with the group this week.

Oldham's marketing manager Sean Jarvis said: "There are still a lot of negotiations to be completed but we are hoping a deal can be struck.

"There's a meeting tonight [Thursday] and it could all be finalised after that."

The Latics only have until 4 August to convince the Football League that they can fulfil next season's fixtures.

"It's very desperate but we've just got to get on with it. I wouldn't like to speculate what would happen if it doesn't go through," Jarvis added.

Latics staff and players will hope there are no last-minute hitches after Moore pulled the plug on one deal to rescue the Boundary Park club earlier this week.

However, they have been boosted by news that the Football League has released transfer money from the sales of Chris Armstrong and Fitz Hall.

Some of that revenue is expected to pay their wages - as a number of office workers and squad members have not been paid for over six weeks.
