I turned 30 last week, and my girlfriend bought me a ticket from the Brighton v West Ham game, from 30 years ago, played on 28th October 1978 (the game closest to my birth date) I am trying to locate a programme from the game as I'm a bit sad and want to frame the ticket and programme along with ticket and programme from tuesday nights Leicester game.

having no joy online, does anyone have one they want to sell/donate to me? condition not really an issue.

cheers

My dad has thousands of programmes and I know he has picked up loads of doubles after buying bulk packs from car boots etc.

Will ask him if he has a spare when he gets back from holiday.

If he does Im sure he'l happily pop it in the post for you for free.

I am sure they will, considering how much respect you have for your dad. Kids are always proud of their dad.

Bryan 'Pop' Robson scored the WHU goals.
The game was marred when Utd 'fans' invaded an Albion area, and a 72 year old Albion fan died in the crush on the East Terrace! :(

Didn't know that. 32 000 crowd was a biggy, seeing it was our promotion to Div. 1 season. My first game as a kid was a 34 000 gate in '72. I passed out in the crush. Scarey

I must have done all those in the 70's, a packed goldstone was THE place to be.

At a quick, off the top of my head kinda way....
Bournemouth 2-0 div 3
Reading 2-1 div 3
Wolves 2-3 LC
Derby 1-1 LC
Charlton 1-0 (?) div 2
Rochdale 1-1 div 3 (34,766)
Sheff Weds 3-2 div 3
West ham 1-2 div 2
Spurs 3-1 div 2

Can somebody complete the rest? All div's are in 'real' terms!

My memory of the crowd trouble was that the South Stand was full of blokes with no scarves who had got there early. Just before the kick-off a large part of the South Stand and, the adjacent terracing in front of the West Stand, started chanting 'Irons, Irons'. Cue some activity, although nothing on the scale of the Spurs visit in the previous season.

That looks a pretty comprehensive compilation, but a gate of 32,032 at a match I attended in the Seventies sticks in my mind. Or was that an away game?
