Im thinking about going to Germany for a fews days, can someone let me know the cheapest way to get there? I would hazard a guess at train but cant find any decent links to google!

Cheers

Depends where you wanna go and when dude. I just checked return flights to Hamburg over the weekend of the final and they are only £100 return + tax.

Get 2-3 mates together and drive it. I'm off to Cologne at the weekend, total cost will be about £50-60 each for transport - about half the total we'll be spending on lovely German BEER.

I seem to remember that you can get the Eurostar to Lille International or Brussels , then pick up the high speed Thalys trains into Europe. Could be quite expensive though this time of year.

Flying is by far the best option. Maybe for cheap fares think about alternative routes. Maybe fly to Dublin on Ryanair or easyjet, then fly Dublin to Germany?

Ryanair fly to Frankfurt from Stansted.

Be aware this "Frankfurt" airport is a very long way from town.
It took me less time by train from Cologne than the transfer time from this airport.

That's what we are doing. Only 2 of us in the car (meeting up with my brother and nephew who are already over there) to give us more room to bring BEER and WINE Home.

That airline's name still conjures up images of some of the German specialist TV channels.

Be also aware that Frankfurt is one airport and Frankfurt HAHN is another airport 100km away from frankfurt. Don't make the mistake i made and go to Frankfurt...It cost me ALOT of money to catch my flight in the end.
Ryanair don't fly to frankfurt, only to HAHN.

for you it would be best to try stansted airport or bournemouth. ryanair were flying from there as well, depending where you wanna go in germany.

the "frankfurt" airport is "Hahn" which is about 40 min drive from frankfurt. airport is well served by various bus shuttle services, which are also cheap.

That is crazy! The misleading bastards, I was just about to purchase a ticket this evening to 'Frankfurt'. Thank you all for avoiding a disaster.

I do apologise Damanclay. Damanclay? DAMANCLAY???

It appears he is stuck in Hahn.

I turned up at frankfurt airport at 10:20 looking for the ryanair terminal, after wandering around for 10 minutes looking bemused someone came up to me and explained Ryanair don't fly from here, they fly from Hahn, to which I said, bollocks, my plane leaves in an hour, he said..you aren't going to make it.
I made it...just.
