O/T Internet Speed

Sorry to be a pain (again) but wondering if one of the clever NSCers can help. I'm getting 02 broadband and wanty the internet amongst other things to watch live sports (eg Sky) online at places like justin.tv as i know a few of you use.

It says i can get UP TP 17 meg broadband speed.

02s standard package has up to 8MB speed and the next one up (only £2.40 more a month) has up to 20 MB speed...

Do you think this is worth doing for the little extra a month or do you think 8 MB package will be enough (i know it depend on the computer etc but in theory is it worth the faster package!!)

Depends how close to the exchange you are. I'm about half a mile and I get 8meg with o2 and I can watch justin.tv ok.

I'm with BT and supposed to get 8meg in practice it seems to average out about 6 and a bit. Justin is some times good and some times shit, ho hum.

even on 8mb watching iptv should be fine, its more to do on actual performance between O2 and the source of the IPTV
