My computer appears to have an embedded cookie or something so that when I log on to the internet my home page reverts to this dodgy search engine site and then I get periodic adds popping up in my screen for the usual viagra / porn rubbish, every 9 or 10 internet visits.

Anyone got any tips on how to wipe these embedded cookie things from my computer, or can recommend any decent software to clean this up? I'll be eternally grateful.

:(

When you order that much viagra off the internet, that's the sort of targeted marketing you can expect...embedded cookie, my arse.

Is it the one which takes up the WHOLE screen (including the tool bar at the bottom) ? I get that every time I first open Explorer, and I have to 'end task' Explorer to get rid of it. f***ing thing pisses me right off.

My pc puts a big white window out that has only a close button on it after about an hour of use.

I have Norton Anti Virus. I have run the anti virus from startup 'safe mode' cleared all cookies. Removed one Trojan virus. I still get this window.

Anyone have ideas as to what else to try?

Cheers,

David
