It won't help stopping the car, but at lest it would clean the brake pipes!

'He' had run out of windscreen washing fluid and the tank was empty.

My tip would be to pop a banana in the petrol tank - it's PACKED full of energy, so it would make your car go a lot further.

he will need a brake fluid change asap , as the soap could easily ruin vital seals in the brake set up

Deary me BoF - a fluid change is necessary for "your" friend - what sort of car may it be? You may be able to do it yourself...

when my brother got his first car (old VW Bettle) he topped his oil up. Not realising it had a dip stick apart from the one driving it, he filled it right up to the rocker cover. He then started to drive home leaving a steady but thick cloud of smoke behind him.

If I can't do it myself, how much am I (there, I said it!) looking at?

Fluid change needed - it's amazing how many people do this and wrong fuel really p1sses me off when you get to breakdown for that... Then they moan that it will cost them for a drain down " well you put the wrong bloody fuel in it numbskull"
