Exactly what i thought. If throwing one bucket of water is the attempt at saving the poor thing then there was only one outcome sadly.

Bloke I used to know was a Customs officer in Edinburgh. One of his titles was HM Receiver of Wrecks. He told me that whenever a dead whale washed up, he had to go down and claim it on behalf of Her Majesty. Oddly enough, Maj never showed any interest in turning up to do whatever it was she wanted the whale for, and after a few days it would start to get decidedly whiffy. At which point they would blow it up with dynamite!
