Over the next couple of weeks, we will find out what is the greatest Science Fiction show ever to run to the members of NSC. The selection of shows be whittled down to two to reveal the greatest Sci-Fi show ever to NSC.

All Sci-Fi shows nominated have to be known in more than one country or to be a regular British household name to be considered for nomination.

Vote for your fave FOUR shows.

Ooo, can we nominate... I nominate the half arnie-half machine:

terminator_l.jpg

Incidentally I know a terminator related joke:

Steven Spielberg is making an action movie about all the classical composers.
Sylvester Stallone walks into the casting room and begs to be Mozart.
Jean Claude Van Damme strolls into the casting room and asks Spielberg if he can play Beethoven.

Arnold Schwarzenegger struts into the room and says...

...

(wait for it...)

Star Wars is a film not at TV show, unless you mean the animated Clone Wars...

... you forgot.

Blakes 7
Buck Rogers
Flash Gordon

to name but a few.. oh and Buffy is hardly Sci-Fi.

I thought about that, but its serialised, and it would be so hard to exempt it from the likes of Star Trek

It is debatable where the line films should end. I included Star Wars because its serialised and is familiar to 4 other sci-fi shows up there. But should it be removed because its a film? Its serialised though, you have to watch it to follow and understand it, like DW, Start Trek and Farscape....

Fair enough... I'm not really a termminator fan, I just wanted to share my really bad joke.

For us older voters can we include Quatermass. Although in B/W the two series were the scariest sci fi I have ever seen. Made in an age when Dan Dare was the only way of combating the menace from outer space.

Also if you put Buffy in as sci fi, how can you miss out Firefly, Joss Wheddon's actually sci fi series? I say scrap the poll and start again, define some rules. TV or film? Nominations from the beginning etc.

Oh yes, I'd have voted for that

Really there should be 2 seperate polls, Television and FIlm, as both in their own right have brought great Sci-Fi.

However as my Grandparents owned the Dr.Who shop that used to be on St.Leonards seafront, I've only got one choice for TV which is the ORIGINAL Who with Tom Baker, still the best Doctor by far IMO, however much of a tosser he is in real life from what I've heard
