Good afternoon all,

I have to go to Hove Crown Court tomorrow morning as a witness. Now my predicament is...

Should I go wearing Shirt/Trousers/Shoes?

or.....

Casual?

The reason I ask is because I would normally be inclined to wear smarter dress option, but someone told me today not to worry, and just go wearing whatever, as Im only a witness.

What would you do?

Don't think it really matters. Had to give evidence recently myself, there was a few of us, and we were mixed between smart/extremely casual, and no-one said a word.

Probably look a bit more respectable in better jeans/buttoned shirt rather than shorts and t-shirt or whatever, but doubt it matters.

My advice (as someone who spends a lot of time in court in my part time unpaid job), would be to dress neutrally; avoid T-shirts with slogans on if you can.
Jeans and a polo shirt is fine.

Turning up in a suit and tie will impress the jurors and they'll believe everything you say in evidence.
