I dont think Pete Doherty should be near the top. It is the NME getting wanky and romanticising it like some rock and roll legend because we dont have any actual legends in music at the moment.

If they are talking about whos cool in music, Ronnie Wood should still be in the top 50!

Its just an easy way for them to fill up there paper every week.

I've had enough of NME making a fuss over ordinary bands like The Kings of Leon or The Strokes while loads of good English bands stuggle on with little to no coverage.

NME = Smash Hits for indie kids

What the f*** is Morrisey doing in it? I guess the NME are pining for the smiths.

Leila Moss and Abi Harding are two of the most perfect women you will ever see.

The kind of wanky thing I used to hate NME for.

Saw the libertines last night though, they were pretty good:)

Just because Eminem is white does not mean he is not part of that culture.

It is less a black culture, more a underclass culture of which Eminem used to be part of.

I agree though that once rappers make their millions it is hard for them to retain credibility because surely the motivation and inspiration is no longer there and they are no longer part of the scene.

And your point is?

Eminem is catchy enough, yet seems obsessed with something he isn't a part of, the deprived black american guns and gang culture.

You what??

I do hope you aren't being completely thick and suggesting white americans (white people in fact) shouldn't make hip hop music.

Are the only people I would have included and NOT in the order the NME put them.

Their review of Embraces latest Album sums up NME for me. Rather than mentioning the music the bloke just had a little rant about them and gave a rating of 0/10.

Ok so alot of people may think Embrace are shite but if your going to review an Album you could actually mention the music in your review!

The review of the new Manics album was much the same.

I have old copies where they rave about Oasis but yet they slag them off now and say things like 'Brendan Flowers formed the band after being inspired by Oasis, but luckily that had no reflection on the killers music'

Fad loving tossers.
