Since I found out that the writer is a West Brom fan, and that wherever possible he puts a reference in of his beloved Baggies, I can't watch the programme.

For example. On UK Gold tonight, the episode has an Inspector Koumas.

James Bolam plays Jack Halford, Alun Armstrong is Brian Lane and Dennis Waterman is Gerry Standing.

Put the three surnames together and you end up with Halford Lane Standing - or the Halfords Lane Stand at West Brom's ground.

Yet Lane supports AFC Wimbledon not the Baggies; wonder why he didn't write that into the script.

An idea for a round in a football quiz is name football teams that TV characters support: like Lane and Wimbledon.

The only trouble is, the only ones I can think of are Terry McCann and Fulham and Alf garnett and West Ham.
