As of now we have a much more relaxed and continental approach to drinking. Late bars, early bars, sophisticated people and no "CAN I HAVE (meaning grab off you) YOUR GLASSES NOW PLEASE!!!!". Well we might not be there yet but does anyone know where there is a website/page that lists the new opening times of pubs n clubs in Brighton? It would be sensible for the council to list them to stop us all wandering around trying to find the places that are open after 11pm.

Did anyone buy the Evening Standard last night ?

Daily Mail style "booze" Britain in the first few pages, then a massive free pull out of the all pubs extended their hours in the middle pages.

One point that hasn't been made about this is I think there is a small window (probably closed?) where pubs/shops etc.. could apply.

I think that whilst many, many pubs have applied for extensions - many of them won't bother beyond midnight.

A mate on email, not sure how true it is.

Must say sounds about right to me. I heard about the F o War, and I know for a fact that Basketmakers and The Eagle are right, so its probably more or less right. Cheers.

What time -did- your pubs close at before this?

I don't see a 1:30 closing as being anything out of the ordinary, the two pubs I go to are open that late any night its worth their while... and the local nightclub has been 3:30 since it opened.

Jaysus, that was early

Those times I said were last orders, its 11:00 on Sunday and officially 12:30 every other night, but nearly everywhere has a 1:30 late. Most of Dublin City has 2:30 lates, 1:30 on Sundays.

You had TEN minutes drinking up time

I've headed into drinking up time with three pints waiting me on many a weekend... One hour, no music drinking up time here.

Drinking up time is 20 minutes - from 11pm to 11:20pm. Last orders is called 10 minutes before "time" - no more alcohol must be purchased after "time" has been called.

Ah OK. Here last orders is called and they can serve anyone who was already queuing, IIRC...

However, its usually let go a little lax... or a lot lax, depends on the pub. Chuckout is last orders + 60 minutes if they're being strict. That too goes a bit...
