LIDDLE JOINS SUSSEX
County champions Sussex have signed left-arm seamer Chris Liddle.
The 22-year-old, who made his county debut for Leicestershire last year, has
signed a two-year deal with this season's double winners.
Cricket manager Mark Robinson said: "Chris has the potential to bowl a very
lively ball and, with his natural left-arm variation, should prove an attractive
asset to the squad and as a person should fit well into our family
atmosphere."
Liddle added: "It's a privilege to join the best club in county cricket,
they've had a marvellous season with winning both the C&G Trophy and the
Liverpool Victoria County Championship.
"I can't wait to get down to Hove and to impress."

Goodwin will be 35
Montgomerie will be 36
Kirtley will be 32
RMJ will be 32

It always makes me smile when, as part of a cricket player's biography, they list where they were educated. Dogs sniff each other's bottoms, Englishman ask where you went to school. Bizarre.

Reading Liddle's biog there reminds me of the story that Sussex CCC happily regale anyone who wants to know about Murray Goodwin's awesome record-breaking unbeaten knock of 335* against Leicestershire in 2003. During this innings, he only offered one chance, and was dropped on 304. The bowler? Step forward, one Luke Wright.
