Never ever thought that I would hear N D crucify a song, "Midnight Train to Georgia", it is slow dull, without passion or tune. Some greats should know when it time to hang up their boots.

He does it OK, nothing groundbreaking or clever and it seems radio 2 are playing it every 15 mins, the question is why??? Can't be hard up surely.

Here he is with Cliff Richard with what could possibly be the worst ever version of White Christmas. This is plain awful. Absolutely horrible

Dunno who is the worse culprit. You decide

Wanna hear a worse cover of Up on the Roof than Robson and Jerome? Well here it is at about 1 mile an hour

There's lots of this stuff out there. Don't get me wrong, he's written some classics but he's taken some casualties along the way too.

'Girl You'll be a Woman Soon', for me. Absolutely none of that pub singer cheesiness that marked his stuff from the mid-70s onwards. 'I'm a Believer' would be my reserve.

I once worked with someone called Neil Dimond but it was pronounced Diamond or so he said. The first time I was told to ask for him I told the bloke to f*** off and didn't bother doing it, only to get a blocking later that day

I once loudly asked in a bar in Gran Canaria if the Neil Diamond shit could be turned off. Got a slap for my troubles from the pissed-up girl stood at the bar next to me. Turned out it was a demo tape of her hubby who was a professional Neil Diamond impersonator. Gotta admit he was good tho, indistinguishable from the real thing. As was his missus. Who was formerly a bloke.

Saw him at Glastonbury a few years back and it was an enjoyable way to pass an hour.
