..."It wasn't tailored to an American audience".

Pathetic, I'm usually a Yankophile, but if the BBC did something like that in relation to 9/11 they would nuke us.

Epic fail by Uncle Sam. As a protest I'm switching to French and German porn for a month.

What part of the ceremony was the 7/7 tribute? I might watch it

Wasn't that the bit where they asked everyone to stand-up and take a moment's silence for those who are unfortunate to not be able to be part of such an event as the London 2012 Games?!

Then a collage of photo's of the 7/7 victims emerged I believe.

The Abide with Me bit which was also at the same time they have the photo wall. The photos where sent in by people who were at the stadium of their friends and relatives who had died between the games being given to London and the event itself as well as remembering those who died on 7/7 which was the day after we were given the games

You can imagine the uproar in the States if we hadn't shown coverage of 9/11 tributes.

Pathetic? Yes. Disrespectful? 100 times yes.

NBC has already come in for a huge amount of flack from Americans for delaying the opening ceremony by 3 ½ hours instead of showing it live

Don't ever compare 7/7 with 9/11, they are a complete world apart.

But I agree with the sentiment, they made a ridiculous error of judgement there.

Not comparing it, but both were acts of terrorism and BOTH should be remembered regardless of nationality.

Are you suggesting they should have remembered 9/11 in the opening ceremony? That's ludicrous. 7/7 was included because it happened in London, the day after the Games were awarded. 9/11 has no relevance whatsoever.
