Most successive promotions or relegations

IF we get promoted this season (and a big if it must be) it will be the fourth successive season of promotion or relegation for the Seagulls.

We're on three at present, so are West Brom and I'm sure there are other threes. But has any team been promoted or relegated in four successive seasons?

Northampton and Swansea spring to mind .... I am sure both went down all 4 divisions (mind you, that is only three successive relegations!) ...

What about SK Brann in Norway?

1979 - Relegated
1980 - Promoted
1981 - Relegated
1982 - Promoted
1983 - Relegated
1984 - Promoted
1985 - Relegated
1986 - Promoted

Thats 8 seasons of yo-yo football!

You've also got Drogheda United in Ireland

1994 - Relegated
1995 - Promoted
1996 - Relegated
1997 - Promoted
1998 - Relegated
1999 - Promoted
2000 - Relegated

And our very own Deportivo La Coruna had a good yo-yo spell in the sixties:

1962 - Promoted
1963 - Relegated
1964 - Promoted
1965 - Relegated
1966 - Promoted
1967 - Relegated
1968 - Promoted
Then a spell of consolidation before;
1970 - Relegated
1971 - Promoted

It's going to be quality when we get promoted to the Premiership next season. We'll be averaging the smallest crowds the top flight has ever seen since about 1910 probably. :D

Still, that wonderfully nimby Falmer website confidently states that football clubs up and down the country can and do survive on gates of under 8,000 so it's not a major issue is it. ??? :lolol:
