Ming Campbell's speech

When I travel around this country my anger rises as I see the daily problems faced by decent British people.

Parents who can't get their children into the local school.

Young couples who can't afford decent housing.

Older people struggling on the basic state pension.

This is the frustrated majority of Britain.

Not "Football supporters who can't get a new stadium built" then.

Old Ming always delivers a good speech (or at least someone writes good ones for him) although unfortunatly he never seems to come across with any passion or venem.. its all abit sad really.

Ming is in the worst point EVER for a leader.

He isn't hated, but he isn't liked particularly either.

Total indifference..

Hopefully weakness at a national level for the LibDems will translate into less arrogance at a local level in the forthcoming council elections. Hopefully.

Naturally, David Cameron's attempts at being caring and considerate would even make me vote Green.

cringeworthy.

Which basically sums in the Liberal Party in general.

High up on the South Downs.
That media whore, Marina Pepper, was rambling on about the Tory threat to her precious party today. In Sussex the Liberal Democrats have proved that they are a party of rural landowners.

YOU MIGHT AS WELL VOTE TORY!

Watching Ming on the TV you could tell he was reading an autocue.

He wants to be in government! :nono:

Recent polls still showed that about 60% of Lib Dems would prefer to have Charles "squiffy" Kennedy back than Ming, what does that say about him?

Anyway, it matters not as the Liberals have got about as much chance of winning the general election as I have of fathering Jennifer Anistons baby.

Might as well have the Honey Monster in charge.

...coupled with the fact that the Liberals, being the principle-less shower of opportunists that they are are already talking about power-sharing with Labour.

Liberal Democrats. Return to your constituencies and prepare for oblivion.

He might as well have told us that the Pope is Catholic.

He is saying nothing new and I don't think he offered a valid battle plan to attack the problems.

Bollocks. The Lib Dems are a pro-Euro party whereas the other two just forever skirt around the issue to appease the extremes of their parties.

Norman Baker seems prinicipled enough to stand by his view on Falmer, despite the fact that he's up against the majority of the local electorate. You may not agree with him on that, but principle-less he is not.

The Lib-Dems advocate an increase on income tax, because they're honest enough to admit that is the only way to pay for improvements in health/education.

On the other hand, look at Labour - voted into power in part on the back of union financial support and socialist voting northerners have been royally shat on. I'm REALLY not sure what Labour stand for these days, unless it's American arse licking, of course.

As Dave says, Ming has said nothing wrong in that speech.

Couldn't agree more. Appalling bunch of opportunists, freaks and oddballs who have promised the gullible the earth for years in the full knowledge that the hard realities of government will never threaten to intrude on their pipedreaming. Can't stand them.
