Dont get him, every time I see him for club and country I always think "not good enough"
What's your opinion?

International level? A pedestrian, bloody awful, and paired with that liability at right back we have a really strong right hand side!

Not quick enough but dependable, strong and a fixture for the Premiership champions. The alternative appears to be a reshuffle involving the inclusion of Stewart Downing. :shudder:

I thought he played well tonight apart from missing that one on one well it was his wrong foot, he put him self about tonight and put in a good shift much better option than downing

Milner hasn't improved since he was 17,he's just a one trick pony that offers very little, how he gets in the team is beyond belief.

Too slow to hurt the opposition. Not my cup of tea but did his shift today.

Covered his full back well and ran his legs off, including pressing the opposition further up the pitch than either Parker or Gerrard were able to do - he may not be technically the most gifted but played in Hodgson's system he will do a decent job - not everyone is a superstar and knocking the workhorses seems a bit harsh unless and until they let you down.

All international footballers should be able to kick and be comfortable using both feet. Agreed one foot is going to be stronger than the other, but Milner clearly has not got a left foot. Nowhere near international class.

Neither option in the poll, he played well against Belgium and did his bit today. I've seen better players than him put the ball into the side netting.

James Milner = Ashley Barnes, but without the clinical finishing. I understand what he does, but I think we can do better than him.

I thought that he did quite well covering Johnson who also had one of his better games for England overall it was a good solid professional performance sticking rigidly to their apparent game plan.

Johnson defended ok, but his crosses were utterly rubbish
