On John Barnes' footie night on 5 last night they had a guy from the mirror on and he pretty much dismissed the whole affair as a joke.

8 million is f*** all plus a player taking up to about 15 million probably less? Bugger all for a player of Owens undeniable quality and Liverpool may have cost themselves as Champions League place.

Owen will be third choice behind Raul and Ronaldo without a doubt at Real and in this day and age where players are banging on about first team football why would Owen go there just for an extra few thousand quid a week?
