McNulty - Is he any better than Calderon?

He gets badly injured against Crewe, the club supports him whilst he is out for over a year, the supporters love him and the club allows him to go out on loan to get himself fit and then he wants to sign for Scunthorpe of all teams! Is there such a thing as loyalty with the average player?

:bla:

In fairness to McNulty, he wasn't getting played and neither he is likely to play now that we have Painter.

Different case to Calderon altogether I'd say.

Also, as Gus acknowledged last week, he said that up at scunthorpe, of course he's going to say that. Most loan signings say they'd be like to stick around wherever they're on loan.

Maybe Jimmy can get back in to the team on the left side of midfield, well I hope so anyway with Benno on the right.

Did you hear these comments or is this just another passing bandwagon?

Passing bandwagon of course. I'd prefer to wait and see what his talks with Gus result in. McNulty said what a lot of loan players say, including those at Brighton, about the club they are loaned out to. A lot of loan players we've had have said they'd like to stay but ended up going back for one reason or another. The situation is completely different from the Calderon one.

It's amazing the grief some people give our players at the drop of a hat.

It's also dumb comparing the two scenarios, McNulty is not alleged to have been offered a 200% pay rise.

Nor, as yet, has he done anything to deserve one.

But players come,and players go.

The club goes on (hopefully) for ever.
