According to today's News Of The World. Can't post a link as they've just made their online site pay per view, but it says 'there is "damning" evidence that matches in the Championship and Lower Divisions were fixed' and that City of London police are awaiting the dossier.

English football IS corrupt, dossier claims

Published 11:43 17/10/10 By MirrorFootball

Championship and lower league matches have been fixed by a Chinese betting syndicate, according to reports.

A dossier which is about to be handed to City of London police also claims that two Premier League clubs have unknowingly been funded by the crooks, who have made £1.4m profit.

A source familiar with the allegations told the News Of The World that the scandal would "blow the cricket match fixing scandal out of the water."

He added: "There is evidence that matches have been thrown and players and club officials have accepted huge amounts of cash to fix the games."

The allegations are thought to be connected to a German court case which opened last week. Four men are charged with fixing 32 lower league matches in Belgium, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary and Turkey.

But investigators are said to have intercepted phone calls from fixers based in London and will send on the transcripts to UK police.

In seriousness, could it be Bournemouth and that decision?

I'm looking to have some kind of reassurance that lino's aren't THAT shit by nature and that actually, he was paid off.

In seriousness, could it be Bournemouth and that decision?

I joked through gritted teeth in the pub after that game that when the lino called the ref over, he actually said "Look mate, I've got this down as a draw. Any chance we could put that free kick inside the box?"

OMG if that came true

There is a reason the Tell Tale Tit of the world is behind a pay wall it is to protect decent people from its rubbish, kindly keep it that way.

All of the Murdoch titles are going behind a paywall , based on the assumption that people will pay for online content instead of buying a physical copy of the newspaper. The Times and Sunday Times will announce later this week how many online subscribers are signed up after daily sales have dropped by around 15% over the last 12 months.

It would be disappointing, but the good question is, why aren't there more such scandals?

Whenever there's a discrepancy between the sums that can be bet and won on a cert, and the sums required to shift the score, such things are almost inevitable.

It'd take a tanker-load of money to get Premiership players to lay down, considering the size of their weekly pay-packets.

The places where there's leverage are the referees everywhere -- who aren't on £100k a week -- and on players in the lower divisions.
