Which away games have you been to with a really low Albion turnout?

a couple that spring to mind for us are

Plymouth Simod cup or whatever - early 90's, won on pens (I think)
Norwich same comp, year or so before, lost 5-0

if my memories correct both followings numbered about 50

I think it was 6-0 at Norwich. The crowd was small though.

Edit: Nope, you were right, it was 5-0. Wasn't such a bad night after all, then!

I was - nearly died going back to Plymouth, I skidded on some black ice and shot right across the road. I also remember a couple of Plymouth fans in our end stripping off behind the goal. Happy days!

Sunderland in the 70s - can't remember which year but we won. (It wasn't the one that Williams scored in but another - think Ward got one - we won 2-0 if memory serves me)

Was Roker Park of course in those days- the home end was one of the loudest I ever experienced

We had a reasonable following - went on one of the Seagull special trains, but since they didn't have any real segregation, our fans seemed to disapear once we got inside the Ground, and me and the guy I went with seemed to me to be the only Albion in there.

Got into a bit of trouble after we scored our first - mainly due to the lack of segregation and decided to rather quickly move to shall we say a safer part of the ground!

Just as well cos we got a second soon after!

Yep it was 5-0 and from memory we had 40 something. When we went 3-0 down I tried to count our numbers (which consisted of half a train carriage full, a small mini bus and probably a couple of crazy drivers). Didn't do too well as it was 3 days after my 18th and I seemed to be counting double. Luckily the water balloon fight on the train home sobered me up a bit. Happy days

Another edit: astoundingly they gave us the seats and a bit of terrace and I now vauguely remember the terrace boys doing a conga - one bloke had a pair of Norwich City knickers on his head during it. Wonder if Delia sells those now?

Remember also a trip to see us a Sunderalnd where we probably had 150 or so but the rain was so bad coming off the North Sea (this was at Roker, not the Stadium of Shite) that we all congregated in the stairs that led to the terraces from the burger bar and bogs and it looked like we had no fans at all. You could tell us on the way home though - we were the ones falling over during a GDC type lager extravaganza whilst smelling of wet sheepdog.

Sunderland away at Roker Park in about 1985, think we lost 2-1, Gary O'Reilly was sent off, the away crowd was less than 50. I was in the away stand, resplendant in blue and white scarf, saw another couple of Brighton fans but that was about it. Was probably the only time I have been in the away end wearing my colours, was with a Sunderland fan anyway, think the locals just viewed me with curiousity and I certainly didn't feel threatened in any way.

Walsall V B&HA early 70s i think that me and my 4 mates were the only supporters there, there was no sign of any other supporters, and worse than that, we got to Birmingham New Street and cos we had blue and white scarfs we had the living crap beaten out of us by sunderland supporters, they thought we were West Brom

Not THAT low but compared to the thousands who went the season before and added to the rain and a RUBBISH defeat it was depressing.

Turnout of 1 (me). Barnsley, League Cup in I THINK the same year we got to Wembley in the FA Cup! OK, yes, I'm exagerrating, there were probably about 60/70. I.E. one coach and probably a few like me who had made our own way there.

I was at that game! You're right, we got off the Seagull Special, marched to the ground in a nice escorted group singing "Albion, Albion Albion", etc, then when we got to the ground it was like they had put us in the home end! No segregation whatsoever and we all ended up in 1s and 2s. I'm there in my blue and white scarf surrounded by Sunderland fans, praying for a nice, boring 0-0. Of course bloody Brighton went and scored and then got a second. Fortunately I'd been befriended by some amazed and bemused Sunderland fans (by telling them it was a fix that they'd got relegated the previous year) who warded off the Neanderthals.

You're right about the home end as well. Deafening support.

There was no away end for that match so we were lumped in with the wifebeaters.
