Lewes District Council - Aren'tcha still sick of them?

You'd think that after their last humiliating outing when they tried to prosecute me, Lewes District Council would have learned some sort of lesson. But no, they're still determined to use heavy-handed techniques in order to stop a perfectly legitimate protest.

This time around they are acting the bully with Jenny Mumford in Lewes who has had the NERVE to campaign against more development in the town. She's put this sign up outside her house:

and is currently waiting to be taken to court on the grounds that she's illegally displaying an "advertisement".

Cockjugglers, the lot of 'em.

Has to be said that the good burghers of Lewes seem to get the council they deserve. They keep voting for these masonic swine.

Well I did not vote for them. Lib Dems are the worst thing that has ever happened to British Politics. A bunch of whining, we know what is best for you, with no clear policies on anything wasters. Give me an old fashioned Socialist or a rabid right wing Tory any day. You know what you get with those.

Probably fixtures, but I did love this story from last week.

A grandmother from Merseyside has applied for planning permission to demolish the home of Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/7344045.stm

A council spokeswoman said: "Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has received a planning application from a resident of Kirkby relating to the demolition of a property in Cuffley and use of the space as a community garden.
"This application will go through the normal planning process."

Wouldn't it be funny if they granted it?

Giving a boring answer here, if the woman gave the council satisfactory answers to any supplementary questions arising from the application, they could well approve.

Doesn't mean it will get built though.

I am not sure I agree with her about the development; but she has every right to make her point.

When they say "Lewes District Council" do we know whether this is actually the elected Councillors or the salaried pointy heads in the Development Control part of the Planning Department???
