Leeds strike again as Swansea won't be able to receive the trophy at their stadium on Saturday.

Does that mean they'll have to do it at Withdean? I guess the Swansea fans are going to desperate for a weekend in Sussex by the Sea then.

Just like they did for us when we won league 2, and Chesterfield were due to have points docked the next day, but we won anyway to make it irrelevant.

It could not have been done in October as the submission to the High Court which triggered the arbitration was first lodged on 23rd November. The League then had a case to prepare.

The only person who is responsible for this is Bates and Bates alone.

we appealed the decision in
august after the kanagroo court, leeds asked plenty of times for the fl to sit around the table and sort this out. the fl refused. leeds then decided that since the fl would not explain which rule was broken, why the rule book is not going to be changed to cover the 'rule' we broke etc. etc. that the only option was to go to the high court and have the fl take the stand and explain.

the fl foolishly thought bates was all bluff and bluster (which is the last thing he is) and decided that he wouldn't really go to court. of course,the fl going to the high court would be highly damaging (though perhaps less damaging in hindsight than this debacle has turned out to be)

once our legal team had got an expedited case in place the fl started panicking. mawhinney wanted to let bates go to court but the fl legal teams advised against this as it would not be a closed court. the fl offered arbitration and leeds were ready to start the next week (and as such this could still hjave been over and done with in march) but the fl wanted six weeks to delay. leeds accepted the arbitration (though we wanted an open case but the fl refused) so as the court would see leeds had taken every avenue to solve this.

they tried delaying tactics again last week on friday after bates trump cards and asked for an adjournment. the judge took it into a fourth day to give them the weekend and now we have to wait for the verdict.

but bates was ready and willing to do this from the start of the season. the fl rather dumbly thought he would shut up and go away. foolish.

and zesh. i am grateful we have a football club to support. if the rules say we should have been relegated to league two or to non league then we should have been. if the rules say we should have been deducted 15 points then we should have been. the rules didn't say that we should be deducted points though and as mawhinney has found out, making up rules on the hoof doesn't wash.
