League 1 Fantasy Football

Was discussing with a fellow Albionite at work today which Albion players would make it into a League 1 'dream team' of sorts. Intrigued to see what people's opinions might be on this - if you had infinite money to put together a dream XI from League 1 in a rough 442 (diamond optional) who would you choose?

Strikers is a HARD choice I thought. Considering the likes of Murray, Madine, Hoskins, Barnard, Morrison, Tudgay could all walk into it too.

Greer, Bennett and Painter were my first thoughts before seeing who you've put, so I'd agree with the albion selections!!

Cant believe nobody has even mentioned Jose Fonte, by far the best defender in this division from what i've seen, yet players like Okuonghae have. Opinions eh.

Gone back to Newcastle with his injury hasn't he?

Don't get me wrong, El-Abd has been superb the last two seasons, if it was a most improved XI he'd be first choice. But I still think there are half a dozen more complete centre backs than him in the league.

Cant believe nobody has even mentioned Jose Fonte, by far the best defender in this division from what i've seen, yet players like Okuonghae have. Opinions eh.

Okounghae was my runner-up for a CB spot because he's such a brick shithouse, a real no-nonsense type fella. Reasonably quick, technically competent, unstoppable in the air. Jose Fonte is technically really good but thought he was a bit dodgy positionally last time I saw him - having said that I've only seen him twice! As you say, opinions...

Okuonghae against any form of skillfull centre forward (AKA Murray) would be completely in bits, he's a lump, can't play football but would kick lumps out of anyone he's up against. If Murray gets the ball into feet against him, he'll ruin him. El-Abd is physically very strong, but can make a last ditch challenge, and pass a football, which big Magnus cant.
