No poll. This isn't a competition, merely a thread in appreciation.

If you are about 40, and especially if you were a student in the late 80s or early 90s, chances are that you were at least a little bit in love, with one or more of these young ladies.

I had forgotten the gorgeousness that was Harriet Wheeler! Went to Throwing Muses gig at Portsmouth Guildhall just because The Sundays were supporting. Happy days ...

of a similar time, whether she is accepted as a face of Britpop or not, for the happiness she gives one of our most famous fans, she deserves the appreciation :DZoe+Ball+leaves+for+wedding+to+Norman+Cook+with+a+bottle+of+Jack+Daniels.jpeg

I very, very nearly included Justine F, but decided against it, on the grounds that PERSONALLY, I was never in love with her.

Mostly because she looked like a boy.

Nor Cerys Matthews, because much as I DID love her a little bit musically, she's a bit ropey facially.

eek, is that what it was, I was seriously in love with her.......until the court order meant I couldn't get within 1000 yards.

Cerys, saw her at V96, loved her too. Maybe for the same reasons you didn't!

I went to the Sundays 2nd lp launch at abbey road studios. There was only about 20 of us, I just spent most of the night gawping at Harriette. The album was playing on a portable cd player while everyone mingled. Think it would be a bit different nowadays.

Also not Britpop, but of the same era: Emma Anderson of Lush (and later Sing Sing).

The clever choice, cos everyone else fancied Miki Berenyi.
