Jesus would not have introduced that sort of competiveness amongst his flock. Anyway, apparently we can all have eternal life according to JC.

Yes - this forth / fourth confusion does seem to be at the heart of the issue. Clearly Jesus meant 'come forward'. It wasn't a competition, and there were no prizes on offer, except for 'eternal life', fwiw.
Even if there HAD been prizes on offer, a toaster would have been of little use, many years prior to the discovery of electricity.
None of this adds up, to be honest.
Are we talking about THE Jesus, or about another Jesús that lives in the present day?
