Will he take back his role as captain from Dean Hammond? :ascarf: got to admit its highly unlikely he will play regular football now but he is a good leader for the younguns in the team.

Think you answered your own question...he won't play again.

Stripping Hammond of the captaincy would probably be the most detrimental thing you could do at this stage in his career. Giving it to Oatway would place pressure on the management to play him and that is something we do not want.

Absolutely a no brainer.

Victor Bhanerjee's notebook
Dick Knight has already guarenteed him a job in the club if he stops playing.

Dick Knight: Charlie, please stop playing.
Chas: No!
Dick: I guarantee you a job for life if you stop playing.
Chas: Oh go on then. Can I be the bloke who wears a suit and smiles at peeps as they come into the Theatre of Breeze on match days (Richard Hebbered)?
Dick: No. I want you to be the gopher for Dean White's Chicken lunches.
