They asked for managers who have made a massive impact at your club. I nominated Gus for an amazing 12 months, changing the way we play, getting so much more from players who strubbled under other managers, asking the players to play proper football.
Although i'm surprised they allowed you to talk about a team from league 1. I got pissed off listening to their phone in with Danny Kelly (who usually is very good) the other day. Usually their phone in with Collymore is all Premiershite but as there had been no Premiershite football they decided to have a phone in from Championship fans but would not take calls from any fans below that. Short sighted
I heard you-it was all good stuff too - it is a shame though that talksport don't give a bit more recognition to teams below the prem
I know their argument would be that there are more fans interested in the premiership but it's hardly inclusive is it
Still next year hopefully they won't be able to ignore us . . .
Great call mate, agree with every word....especially the bit about players now being able to play a great passing football because they are actually being told to play like that.......i think that sums up a lot of the problems with English football, all teams can play like that if thats how the coach trains them ....we need to get rid of English hoof ball. Good point about us fans too getting used to watching us pass it around the back 4 and keep the ball instead of launching it 80 yards too, I remember one of Gus's first press conferences and him saying his footballing philosophy is you keep the ball the other team cant score.....and it only bloody works
Dont normally do the radio thing but pleased I did this time, never expected them to choose a league one manager, maybe there is hope for talk sport yet
