I like Kenny Rogers

There we are, I've said it - I like Kenny Rogers. I'm not ashamed of it. I am what I am, and what I am needs no excuses.

I do only know The Gambler and Coward Of The County so far but they are quite magnificent songs which are now lodged RIGHT THERE as earworms in my head.

I guess that, like with all country music, 90% of the lyposuction-using twinkle-eyed crooner's output will be worthless, schmaltzy trash but if there's anyone else out there willing to stand proud and say "yes - I like Kenny too", don't be afraid.

Baby, when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside, there was somethin going on
You do something to me that I cant explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
Every beat of my heart
We got somethin goin on
Tender love is blind
It requires a dedication
All this love we feel
Needs no conversation
We ride it together, ah-ah
Makin love with each other, ah-ah

<Man of Harveys AND Bry Nylon>
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah

<Bry Nylon>
I cant live without you if the love was gone
Everything is nothin if you got no one
And you did walk in tonight
Slowly loosen sight of the real thing

<Man of Harveys>
But that wont happen to us and we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing

<Bry Nylon>
No more will you cry
Baby, I will hurt you never
We start and end as one, in love forever
We can ride it together, ah-ah
Makin love with each other, ah-ah

Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah

....Sail away
Oh, come sail away with me

I like Kenny Rogers as well.

I'm a country music fan in general for that matter. Anything from:

Kenny Rogers, George Jones, Randy Travis, Alabama, Conway Twitty and Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Keith Whitley, Lonestar, Diamond Rio, Collin Raye, Kenny Chesney, Steve Wariner, Brad Paisley, Gary Allan, Travis Tritt, Keith Urban and Joe Nichols.

To name but a few...

Oh Ruuu-uubeee...don't take your love to town!

All of the Rogesters cheesy, hackneyed tragi-comic work is pure genius...Old gamblers on trains, crippled vietnam war veterans with tarty wives...inspired!

Kenny Rogers.

Yep. Like him too.

Don't mind a bit of country but prefer it Bluegrass.

Hayseed Dixies, Lambchop, Hank Williams the 3rd.

Did you see the hayseeds at the Lewes guitar festival?

There's also a really good swamp blues country outfit called the Curst Sons who supported them and they're from Brighton.

Excellent!
