How if I can't see them?

It should give you the option to copy all files onto the memory stick so I would go with that and then delete what you don't want after the transfer.

You could always boot up the tower and the laptop and copy the files accross using a cross over cable assuming both machines have NIC's.

Something tells me you might struggle with this though (no offense)

What, EVERYTHING? What sort of memory stick will I need for that ?

I don't know the answer to that but I managed to transfer my files that way and managed to recover most of what I needed. You are probably right though and doubt if any memory stick would have the capacity for the music and film back catalogue.

You could also check to see if you have a TV with a VGA connection for temporary use as a monitor

this, can buy them from most electrical shops really cheap, and can also use it to watch movies in the future.

None taken, else I wouldn't be asking :lolol:

Something what Chapmania suggested is a little easier.

You can connect the tower to the laptop via their ethernet ports and then access the tower.
Might need to be a twisted ethernet cable though.

Yeah well I kinda just said that. 'Twistd ethernet cable' ?? what term is that
