How mad are your parents?

I've got to the stage of life where I'm starting to worry about my parents (rather than them worrying about me).

Last week they told me out of the blue they'd sold their house and were going to live in France. Very nice, I'm sure, but a bit of a shock as they're both around 70 and I'd assumed any future moves would be to a nice little bungalow not too far from a Budgens. But no - they want to run a gites (whatever that is).

Is it just mine or do everyone's parents start doing worryingly mad things as they get older?

mum had to give up work last year after an illness and now spends 24/7 going to such nice places such as Bluewater and Lakeside

I used to go alot with my dad to the goldstone but he has given up on footy (high prices/doesnt like withdean/cant pay on gate etc etc) and taken up golf instead
