when he went on loan to Norwich he was rated at around £2.5m but he didn't progress and dropped back out of first team reckoning - maybe it's confidence and he will get back to the top of his game or maybe he was over-hyped and just couldn't live up to it. Not a bad player but not one I would be worrying about "missing out on" based on recent form.

Gus tends to play 3 central midfielders in his side and we have 3 of the best in the league but injuries or suspension means we take a significant drop in ability for their replacement. A central midfielder would be a huge step in improving our squad

Hasn't really done too much to be honest. £1mill is a little cheap but then you look at that price tag of a player of his class and potential then look at what Palace want for Zaha, think they might get 2/3 for Zaha if lucky.

i am so surprised Zaha hasn't been offloaded yet.

Great signing for Forest at that price. Could well end up selling him for 5 times that in a couple of years. Strange move from his point of view though.

Arsenal have made no secret that they want a bunch of fringe players off the payroll, think that's more important than haggling a few hundred K of fee. Lansbury would have gone there for wages, Arab owners = Big pay

Agreed, but hopefully Gus will do some more decent business before COP Friday and I don't mean by that selling Bridcutt or any of our other first team players.

Was going to say, pretty sure he is on a pretty wedge, hence the cheap transfer fee maybe? Would have taken any money away from a striker and we aren't that desperate for another CM, especially with Sparrow and Vincelot hanging around

I would imagine that there are sell on clauses - Wenger seems to make good money out of these
