I've always hated Halloween. A load of youths (1990) scallies (1995) chavs (2004) running around creating havoc under the thinly-veiled guise of trick or treating (begging) and tacky commercialism to beat even Christmas,

However, this year I'm well up for a good Halloween party and it's associated costume hilarity. Maybe it's just becuase I legitimately get to wear a sailor school girl uniform, but I have to wonder at the change.

What do YOU think?

The rise of 'Trick or Treat' is yet more proof of our cultural ties with America (NSC passim) - but I hate it! If they knock on my door I tell them to come back with a guy and I'll give them some money for fireworks.

Perhaps it's living in south London (but not for much longer) that does it but I've never been trick-or-treated.

I know it happens in the UK, but it's pretty rare ..... isn't it?

Always thought bonfire night was from Guy Fawkes???

Nice gag

A lot of people do think Hallowean was started by the pagans, I go with the notion that is was started by the Celts as a festival for the new year, the beginning of Winter or the dark half of the year !!
