Yeah it was a lot better than the BBC one from our point of view! On thing I've never understand- why do people call it grauniad? How do you even pronounce that?!

Becasue the Gruniad used to make so many spelling errors.

The Guardian used to be legendary for typos, to the extent that getting their own name wrong wasn't inconceivable.

I'm pretty sure it was Private Eye that therefore dubbed it The Grauniad.

My favourite Grauniad typo appeared in the obituary for the singer Mel Torme. Because of his lovely voice his nickname was the velvet fog.

Under his photo the caption said "Mel Torme - the velvet frog".
