Nice. Hard to tell but I think that's a 50 percent curtain haircuts ratio in the final picture.
I found Nicky Rust on Facebook the other week
God I miss that place. It was a craphole but it was our craphole!
Who are we playing in the bottom pic?

nothing quite beats standing on the East terrace in the pissing rain 3-1 down with 15 minutes to play . . . . never left early, and trudged, sopping wet to the pub for a few jars to celebrate a 3-3 draw. even with a paltry 6000 there was an atmosphere.
other results did happen. other weather on odd occaisions too.
But look where we are now, its bloody fantastic
Is it?
That was the game I fell in love with. Now we have a game I'm struggling to stay in love with.
Don't get me wrong the Amex is wonderful but I'd swap it in a heartbeat to go back to those days.
Being in the North when we scored a winner in front on 30k plus must have come close.

I can honestlY say I'm lucky enough to have experienced both, well damned close to 30k at the Goldstone.
There is no contest, the Amex North stand is shit compared to the Goldstone. Even 20 000 circa '88 ( Bristol Rovers for example) was a hotter more hostile atmosphere

Heaven. Was there as a kid on the Chicken Run and NS for 33,000 plus gates, sometimes under lights. Will never forget that incredible feeling, the swaying and surging crowds. Can even recall the smell of it .... blokes whiffing of Woodbines, Scotch and beer.

I always remember being on the train from EP going into Hove and starting to jump about as the tops of the floodlights came into view. Quick pint in the Seagull Tavern, grabbing a programme before lining up to be frisked in my crombie to enter the NS.
Magic moments, never to be forgotten.
