Great loyal servant to one club.

Loyal?
Who really tried to buy him and why would he leave his roots in rainy old Manchester?

Don't picture him going to the opera or a fashion show in Milan or Madrid.

Like John O'Shea and Wes Brown, better to stay where the trophies are acquired.

Very risky of Beckham to stop the pitch invader!

It looked like he had something in his hand the stewards were desperately trying to get hold of...

Lost his place in the side and also had a serious injury and worked his way back in the fold.

No hissy fit or transfer demand just got on with it.

Was always going to get back as Fergie's right hand lackie.

You know as well as I that Brown, O'Shea or Neville would never leave.

Phil Neville did the gutsy thing.

He did the right thing retiring, as the Bale's of this world emerged.

Really so nothing to do with his age and sense of having achieved what he wanted to do...............

Is the multi millionaire going to donate the proceeds to a charity?

Yes some Green Football Charity and good on him, ditched the Bentley for a Toyota Prius around 5 years ago much to the derision of his team mates.

Also he has permission to build his ecological house, shame his career is ending as a lot current players could learn a bit from him.

I don't much like him as a starting point but...... has he actually played much in the last 5 years? United or England? Good long career and all but just asking.

I was thinking about this during the game - I'm aware that his, and I guess most other prem players give their testimonial money to charities, but how far down the leagues do you go before it's ok to keep it ? Not that there are that many testimonials these days.
