I have an ominous feeling about this, firstly for the safety of the F1 teams but mainly because they shouldn't be there in the first place. Puts all the wrong messages out that F1 will turn a blind eye to the regime there, with the usual stench of oil and other commercial interests taking priority over right and wrong. Feels a bit like the 60's/70's when the Grand Prix rugby and cricket teams regualrly visited to South Africa when apartheid was the norm, not right when human rights abuses are apparent. OK the visit of F1 may help to put the domestic problems in Bahrain back in the headlines for a week or two so might do some good, but the omens aren't that good.

Ecclestone and Jean Todt seem to have created a scenario where they accepted the Bahrain governments assurances that all is ok so F1 can go there which kind of gives its blessing to the regime. Mind you no one particularly moaned about being in China last weekend yet thats hardly a shining example of human rights. Money talks.

If the race goes ahead it should be interesting with the hot ambient temperatures affecting the tyres and reliability - so the early season form book from the cooler venues could be upset. Maybe McLaren might have a better chance of a win this time?

I'm sure there are some offshore bank accounts somewhere several million in credit that might be related to the Bahraini assurances that the race will be ok.

Ecclestone gets shown up for what he is.
Who is the more evil, Ecclestone or Blatter?

Can't believe this world can't leave the corrupt wankers behind.
