Fantastic scheme that this Professor came up with - but to go into it seemingly having done no research on football is disrespectful I think.

You can't ask someone for tens of thousand pounds if you can't even be bothered to find out what they look like in advance - that takes about 15 seconds on google.

Is that the one where they asked for a weeks wages from premiership footballers?
I thought it was a bit off, I know they earn loads but that isn't their fault. Why not spread it over a numer of high payed professions, everyone always picks on footballers but theres plenty of other loaded people out there, and how does he know they don't give to charity anyway

I think it's utter disgusting and if I were a footballer I would tell her to take a hike which I think half of them did? I think she only got 250ish onboard?

I think it's completely rude and disrespectful.

The nurses are not paid enough that's a fact but begging to another industry in this way is disgusting.

She wanted them to give up one day's pay.

She's coming out of it a bit better as the show goes on, and it's proving there are a lot of decent players out there - once you can get past the tossers that 'protect' them.

I saw some of the publicity slagging off players that the Mirror ran - to be fair, she seems as pissed off about that as anyone as it made the campaign much harder just as it was taking off.
Doesn't seem to have been a deliberate ploy as it seemed at the time.

She got 255, including some players from every Premiership club.

Considering she's supposed to be one of 'the world's most inspirational women', it's a shame most of her strategy seemed to revolve around acting a bit dizzy and wearing short skirts.

No she didn't. Not one player from Chelsea or Middlesbrough gave up a days wage. Their clubs made donations to spare the underpaid players parting with their money.

I think you’ll find it’s f***ing disrespectful for the program to ask for players to pay the nurses when they pay their taxes and so do we. The government is to blame. They are scum. Any football player should say ‘f*** off’ and ask brown for the money. No chance!

Why should they, If all the professional clubs donated millions or billions then Brown would just rub his hands at the thought of the extra cash to balance the cash he’s spunked.

Not exactly, maybe then a few more Nurses can be trained.

I do agree though that it is a bit wrong to ask footballers to give their money to nurses though, but to be honest, I dont think to many of them will really miss the money they have given to the charity.

I was just going by what the script on the programme said - it was written to appear as if she'd succeeded in persuading players at every club.. a little bit of word play on their part I think.
