Everytime i sat in my seat in the South stand at the withers i use to cringe at the thought of that old scaffolding underneath holding us all up.

Lets hope nobody was injured

there was building work going on at the time according to BBC

Twente are expanding the stadium and removed some parts the suspention of the roof construction

By removing that the roof collapsed.

It's confirmed 1 person didn't survive it

Under normal circumstances Mr Squid, that is correct.
But renovation work was going on, and things happen.

Look at what happened to the Sackville Hotel in 2006, or Windsor Castle.
