Went and watched Whitehawk v Ringmer last night, in the Sussex County league.

First game I have watched in a few years, quite impressed.

Anyone else follow the county scene ??? Favourite clubs, places to visit ???

Most County League grounds are fantastic places to go. Burger and a pint while you watch a bit of football and have a wander around, stand where you like and talk to who you like. The football is generally crap but you get treated well and its normally only about four quid to get in.

Compare that to Withdean and you'll see why I've been once in the last three seasons.

Agree,

County league attendances up on last year ??

Maybe this is where people are being driven to by the excessive prices at the Withdean ??

P.S - John Piercy playing well for Eastbourne Town apparently.

I support Whitehawk as my mate plays for them. What was the score last night?
I saw last years Whitehawk v Ringmer and it was a pretty good game

mile oak is horrible - the changing rooms are poor, the pitch is awful on a good day and the whole ground is generally rubbish, especially when there is a swirling wind and pissing rain

:lolol: :lolol:

i hate burgess hill fc with a passion!

the reason mile oak do so well is that teams hate going there - they have developed their game to suit their home ground. its almost like a different weather system on that pitch, a bizare wind, so they just launch the ball forward. defenders arent used to it so misjudge it, and if it hits the ground and bounces you are in trouble as the bumpiness of the surface means the ball can go anywhere

always a challenge playing at mile oak! hope to god they dont go into division one though!

It has to be Worthing United.............
Come on the Mavericks!!!!!

I would go along with that but only as one of my nephews briefly played for them. Mind you he's played for a load of County League clubs (mainly as a reserve). He has a higher opinion of his playing style than the majority of his managers !
