The youth team won 5-1 tonight against Dover thanks to goals from Liam Upton (2), George Barker, James Smith and Steven Brinkhurst and now look forward to an away tie in the second round against either AFC Bournemouth or Bristol Rovers.

Sorry to drag this back from the dead but I found it during a 'Dover' search, in an effort to avoid the dreaded 'Fixtures' accusation.

Thought this was interesting - Dover's take on the game, and the quality of our youth teamers, suggests they thought very highly of them;

When the final whistle blew it was apparent that the lads had been beaten by a very good side and to quote the Arsenal scout “Brighton are an excellent side and your lads should not be disappointed to lose to them”. One player to watch out for in the future is the Brighton no 7 Steven Brinkhurst, he was a class above the rest running our left side ragged throughout the game.
