All,

In true NSC style, I’m here asking whether anyone knows of a simple way of removing the password protection from an Excel sheet that is protected

We’ve had someone leave and not hand over this info and cannot get hold of them now

From memory I’ve been able to do this after trawling various Excel online forums but just wondered on the off chance if anyone can confirm?

N.B I’ve tried turning it on and off again

Thanks

Don't know it this works or not, but maybe worth trying with a copy of the original file

I've tried before, I came to find it was A LOT more secure than you'd imagine. Best of luck.
this, i'm afraid. iirc it can be done at some time/cost of expertise.

Is the sheet password locked so you can't access it without a password or is the data within the sheet locked?

You could brute force the first, and/or use a VBA script for the 2nd.
Sheet was accessible but content protected - now resolved

Thanks
