I'm going to be there. But will probably wait until the Fixtures come out before deciding where to stay. I won't be booking anything just turning up and trying my luck with cheap hotels hostels etc...

We've booked a Villa (and I haven't booked it) so cant help much but when we stayed this year we stayed in Estoril which is lively enough in its own right and close enough by cab with 4 sharing into Lisbon(train was next to nothing) - It was cheap this year (3 rounds of golf & 4 nights accomodation was £150 ish - The largest Casino in Europe is there as well which helps.

However, what prices they charge during the Euro championships is anyone's guess.

If you go out in Lisbon the area to out in is called Dockers and not the city centre.

Oh, and the cab drivers. I've never been so scared in all my life.

Good Luck too.

How do you get hold of tickets for the games and which games do you try to get to as England haven't even qualified yet????

Eight of us going, staying in a cottage just outside Porto, in the middle of a triangle encompassing Porto, Braga and Guimaraes (three of the venues). :drink:

Basically, it's out of the way of aggro. In fact, I'd prefer not to go to an England game. It's just too much grief.

We've got tickets for 8 matches, and I am getting excited already. Mind you, we don't know who we're going to see. Could be Spain v France, or Wales v England, or if we're unlucky Germany v Turkey.

If you want to know about cheap accommodation, suggest www.timeout.com That's usually pretty good.

We booked our accommodation five months ago, and there was a lot of enquries then. You would do well to find much, even now.

GOOD LUCK!
