I'm sick to death of the amount of abuse Prior gets from pundits. His wicketkeeping has improved immensely for England and his batting is better then Foster, what gets to me is they're making Foster out to be the next Alan Knott after one stumping in The Twenty Twenty World Cup. So in your own opinion who is the better Wicketkeeper!

Prior Vs Foster is on.....

Prior = Best batsman
Foster = Better wicketkeeper

Prior is good with the gloves but Foster is just that little bit better (from the few games I have seen him play). However, Prior's batting puts him ahead of Foster in terms of an all round player.

In the current team we need a wicketkeeper who can bat well. That's Prior. If the top 5 always played as well as their form suggests, the Foster would nick it.

Foster is without doubt the better glove man, but Prior is no mug either. Its a compromise picking Prior, if we had a reliable top 5 who could regularly get 400 runs between them Foster would be the England keeper, however our top order batsmen very rarely do the business hence the need for a wicketkeeper batsman. Prior is the best Keeper batsman in England so he plays.

In the current team we need a wicket keeper who can catch consistently .

that isn't Prior (ask Sidebottom).

By all means play him a specialist batsman at six and bung him in the slips (much waht Sussex did when they played Ambrose)

Alternatibvely they could play Ambrose and really get up Ponting's nose:clap2:

prior's keeping is nowhere near bad enough to keep him out of the team, when coupled with the fact that he's definitely the best batsman of the keepers

The amount of shit Prior gets is stupid and biased. He made two great catches and no mistakes in the first test. Haddin let two go through his legs and missed some more byes because he turned away from them, Guess which keeper's keeping was described as immaculate by The Independent tho?

And Ambrose is worse keeper than Prior and worse batsmen than Foster

Prior isn't even Sussex's best wicket keeper - but Prior for England for his all round game. If we had a stronger batting line up in the national side, I'd go for Foster, though.

"Sussex fans think Prior is the best England wicket keeper in shock poll!!"

Not exactly an unbiased poll is it.

But I agree he is the best all round wicket keeper. His batting alone should get him in the side and the fact he can keep wicket is a definite plus.
