it's not just food they need, please can you all put out water for them as well & not just for drinking. To help them keep warm they need to bathe so they can maintain their feathers.

and don't forget to kick a few cats to ensure its not the birds final meal

and the farmers who desimate the hedgerows and use pesticides the few birds that are taken by cats is a very, very small percentage of those who die

anyway back to the main point of the thread it has surprised us just how many birds we habe in a very small garden after the very large one we had in Wales .
We have already seen a wren.two blackbirds male and female a female robin and a pair of ring necked doves some magpies a crow and of coarse the obigatory seagulls all have been fed and now come on a regular basis.
Our cats have great fun looking at them feeding through the windows being a little wimpy as its very cold.

"Feed the birds

(although Dick Van Dyke later shouting "stone the crows, Mary Poppins" does somewhat cancel out the ornithological sympathies displayed by the bird lady)

Just been and stocked up. Can't keep up with their appetites at moment. Cat is eyeing them through window and making that funny cat sound when they are upset.!!
