Does NSC Need A 'Vulnerable Posters' Policy?

It's a matter of ying and yang. An NSC comprised solely of either of the types you've described would be utter dog turd, as seagulls chat is about to find out.

I agree and you can't argue that it was a bad thing, the bloke put up a flag in a place he knew some friends would see it - nothing wrong with that.

It was the love in afterwards which got a bit OTT and sickening (nothing to do with falkor), if you're going to do loads of mutual backslapping then do it in private otherwise it looks like your doing it for the wrong reasons. They helped out a mate who they had met and knew in real life, who wouldn't do that?

Agree with all of that. As for young saps who seek relationship advice, maybe their dad should of punched them in the balls 9 times.

There are specialist websites for people with problems.

One excellent one I used when my marriage broke down was Enotalone.

I would respectfully suggest that NSC is NOT the place to air your problems but Enotalone is.

I would never ever ever EVER have aired my problems on NSC. Sorry but its not geared up for that.

Quite why anyone would share their deepest secrets with NSC is beyond me. But, anyone who spills out the kind of stuff Falkor did recently is clearly desperate and not necessarily thinking logically. Just looking for help wherever they can get it.

Indeed and NSC is NOT that place. Thats not a dig at NSC per se btw. Its a FOOTBALL message board first and foremost.

People who are new to NSC just need to go along with it, if you dont like it - then it probably isnt for you or maybe keep out of stuff you dont like - simple. What ive generally done and i havent caused any problems (probably).

If you go into threads asking for attention and you get put down - then its your own problem.

As for the post saying new posters should only get 5 a day for their first 6 months - why is this needed ? If people just go with the flow and keep in line - why would this be needed ?

Do we really need a vulnerable posters policy ? When a crisis occurs we all muck in and try to help.

Actually there are some regular posters on here who are vulnerable and have no idea how bad the disease they have is or that it is self infliced. Symptoms are delusion when it comes to transfer values and crowd sizes and the tendency, when at football to sit quite near some annoying **** with a drum. They need their own special status on here and help in the real world. I think their names are RednBlue Seaside Eagle83 and Sainsburys3tescos1

I would suggest that anyone who commits suicide on the back of what is said on the internet about them is probably no loss to the great game that is life anyway.

Let them go.
Wow

Having found a body after suicide i find some of the comments pretty heartless, its one of the most damaging ways that a life can be lost and the hurt never ends for alot of people left behind.

Then DONT post it on NSC.

Post on enotalone for example where anyone who thinks they are being funny or those insensitive enough to crack a joke are immediately banned and offensive posts removed/deleted. That place is STRICTLY moderated and with good reason bearing in mind the topics that are on there from marriage breakdowns to all out physical abuse and more.

Agree but still no need to score cheap laughs at vulnerable people.

No you just DONT get it.

Just DONT post it on NSC. <<<----- full stop. By doing so leaves it open to anyone. Like I say its not moderated strictly enough and why should it be.

I would of thought if you are looking for a sympathetic ear, a football forum would be the last place you would come. Maybe I am wrong.

This. In my time on NSC I think that the members have generally been pretty quick to tell the difference between a genuinely stricken person and just another binfest potential thread. I also think that as well as people posting maybe watching what they post in a thread that there is an onus for those who feel upset/offended by a post to carefully re-read and examine what has been posted and the tone in which it was meant. Too many times people have got uptight about posts that have clearly been meant as a joke (imo, I guess :p)
