I remember him playing at Swindon, in one of the most ineffective forward pairings of Towner & Fell. It was obvious we wouldn't score and just a matter of time before we conceeded.

That time was 90 mins & may even have been a pen but it was a midweek game and I had to leave 10 mins before the end to get the last train out ofr Swindon.

In those days there was no internet or 24 hour media so i didn't know the final score until the following morning!
